JANUARY NAIL ART CHALLENGE: DAY 13

I'm finally on track! :P Day 13 is 'Navy Nails'. At first I wasn't sure what I was going to do because I don't have a navy blue polish, but as I was getting out my nail stuff I realized I do have a navy blue striper polish.

So because I was using a striper brush I had to be creative with this design, and I have to say, I am very satisfied with how it turned out :) It's fun and different compared to what I have already done.

As you can see I am kind of obsessed with the Ulta's, In the Nude polish ;P I used it as the base color and then created random shapes with my blue striper brush.

To be honest, when I started this design I wasn't really liking it lol. I had two nails done and I thought about taking it off. I can be such a perfectionist when it comes to my nails (you can ask anyone :P), and I really wasn't happy with how it was turning out. Most of the time when that happens I usually do take everything off and start over, but for some reason I decided to finish it. When I did finish, I put a top coat of Seche Vite on, and it looked better, but I was still a little 'iffy'. I figured I'd just go with it since it was done and I took pictures. But, while I was editing the photos, I realized how much I do like the way it turned out :P I guess I just needed time to get used to it lol.

I hope you guys like this design! Feel free to tell me what you think! :)

JANUARY NAIL ART CHALLENGE: DAY 10

I know this post is a few days late, but I think you guys will still be excited about it! And even though I started this January Nail Art Challenge a couple days late, I will be right on track tomorrow :)

The theme for Day 10 is Animal Print, and I wanted to do something a little different than what I have already done. So I was thinking about a Giraffe print (which I think I will still try at some point) but I ended up with this colorful Leopard print :)

When I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do for this animal print design I knew that I wanted to use one of my new polishes by Ulta, In The Nude, which is the color underneath the Leopard print. The reason I thought about doing a Giraffe print is because for one, I haven't done Giraffe print before, and also because I thought the nude with brown would make a pretty neutral design. But when I pulled out my nude polish I noticed how beautiful the combination of the nude and purple were next to each other :)

Using a dotting tool, I free-handed the Leopard print with Sinful Colors, Savage and Ulta, Celebutante. And I have to say that I am so happy with how it turned out! I was going to do something a little more plain than eye catching, but like I said, when I saw the nude with the purple I couldn't resist! :)

JANUARY NAIL ART CHALLENGE: DAY 7

This design is one of my new favorites :) I am excited to see what everyone thinks of this one! The theme for Day 7 is Pastel. I didn't have any pastel colors about a month ago and now I have about 6 or 7 :) and I love them! I can't wear pastel clothing very well because it makes my skin look really white, but I can pull off pastel colors on my nails.

Do you guys remember my post about the brush stroke technique I learned? I used my crackle polish? If not you can find it here. I used that same technique to create this look. Using O.P.I., Pink Friday, and Do You Lilac It?, along with Essie, Borrowed & Blue, I created this fun, brush stroke design :)

As you can tell I also used a stamp over top of the brush strokes, using Sinful Colors, Snow Me White, and Cheeky plate CH10. I think the stamp really made this design pop!

JANUARY NAIL ART CHALLENGE: DAY 4

Day 4 is Sparkles :) This one was a fun one! For this design I used the sparkles my mom gave me for Christmas (I posted about them in my post 'My Christmas Presents'), they are so much fun! But they are super messy too! Lol.

I absolutely love the way these look!! :) Like I said they are very messy! It was really hard to clean up my cuticle for these pictures because there were sparkles everywhere! But even with how messy these are I would still highly recommend them :) Just make sure to put a paper towel or piece of paper under you when you use them.

JANUARY NAIL ART CHALLENGE: DAY 1

Hey guys! Recently I found a 'January' Nail Art Challenge posted by a nail blogger I follow on Instagram :) I know I'm a few days late on it, but I have done the first 3 days. This one isn't every day like the last one which will be nice :) I still need to do Day 10 though, I'm hoping I can do it tonight but if not I will do it as soon as I can!

Day 1 is Ombre Nails, which I decided to use green polish :) I wanted to use blue, but I have done blue ombre already so I decided to try another color this time.

I apologize for the glare on my nails. I like to use natural sunlight and my lightbox, but I can't figure out how to do that without getting the glare :S It's something I still need to work on.
Anywho, the color I used for this was Sinful Colors, Exotic Green, which is on my middle finger. I added white to the green polish to get the lighter shades and black to get the darker shades. This is a great design for beginners :) It's very simple, I'm kind of surprised this is the first time I've tried it.

MY CHRISTMAS PRESENTS

So I wanted to share with you guys what I got for Christmas :) I know it's a little late but I still want to show you. ...Somehow everyone knew I would like nail polish. I wonder what gave them that idea!? ;)

First off, I do have to be honest...the 4 Sinful Colors and the Wet n' Wild, sparkles by Fergie, I actually bought for myself :P How can you pass up a good deal? :P I couldn't lol.

This may surprise some of you, but I have never tried Revlon nail polish :S My best friend, Jenna, bought me these for Christmas :) Which I actually really like. I have always wanted to try Revlon, but I never have. So thank you to Jenna :) P.S. I have swatches for these, so watch for one of my next posts.

This is another polish I bought for myself :) China Glaze, It's A Trap-eze. I saw a photo of it on Facebook and knew I had to have it! So when I found it in Ulta I was so excited! Especially because it was the last one they had. I used it for my New Years Eve manicure, which I can't remember if I posted that on my blog :$ ...if I haven't I will. I apologize, I have been so all over the place lately.

This is what my mom bought me for Christmas! :) I am in LOVE! lol. I have not tried the nail polish by Ulta...I'm glad other people are getting me out of my comfort zone :P I'm realizing now how I kind of stick to the same thing when I like something. But I'm really grateful that everyone else is getting me out of my comfort zone. If I make one New Years resolution this year, it will be to try new polishes.

I don't want to spoil the surprise on these glitter's, so please wait for one of my next posts (there will be a couple) to see a swatch of them :)

And the last present (and most exciting!) Thank you to my sister!! This has been the most useful thing I have ever used! :) She bought me this portable light. She knows how much I do my nails and thought of me when she saw this in the store :) For anyone who wants to know where she bought it, I believe it was at Michaels.
