NEW YEARS NAILS

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE!! Are you guys doing something fun tonight!? I hope so! :) I decided while I wait for my fiance to get home from work that I would show you my New Years nails. I did film this design so hopefully I can get the video up by tomorrow (it still needs to be edited).

I decided to do 3 different designs on my accent nail so if you decide sometime that you would like to re-create this design you can pick which one you like most or create your own!

So you can do a plain accent nail with sparkles…or you don't even have to do an accent nail. I just had a few ideas that I wanted to put them all together in one manicure :P

For my "perfectionist-self" this did not turn out how I hoped it would. But I wasn't to upset because I still had another idea I wanted to try out.

This one turned out to be my favorite! (Which was a really good thing because I was out of ideas haha). I was inspired by 2 different people for this design. The first is @badgirlnails on Instagram. She made a gorgeous design with a sunset like this only her sunset was designed with pine trees. And the second was Robin Moses. The skyline and fireworks from this video was my inspiration :)

I decided I wanted to add a kiss because isn't it everyones first priority for the New Year to get a New Year's kiss?? :P I'm glad this turned out as cute as I hoped it would.

The colors I used were Sinful Colors, Snow Me White, Cotton Candy, Sugar Rush, O.P.I., Do You Lilac It? and China Glaze, Liquid Leather and Fairy Dust, I also used black and white acrylic paint (very watered down) and Cheeky plate CH29.

So which one is your favorite?? Let me know in the comments below :) I hope you all have a Wonderful night!! Have fun, be safe and get your New Years kiss!! :P

CHRISTMAS SWEATER NAILS

Good evening! :) And (almost) Happy New Year! I hope everyone is doing something fun tomorrow night! I realized today that I never shared one of my favorite Christmas designs with you guys :( so even though it's late I am finally posting it…AND I entered this design into a few Christmas contests on Instagram and won one of them! So I will also be showing you guys the prize I won! :P (Bare with me, this will be picture heavy post).

The theme for the Christmas Contest was "Tacky Christmas Nails" and after Googling some images of tacky Christmas sweaters, this is the design I came up with. And yes, if you are wondering, those are humping deer, and yes there is an actual Christmas sweater with those on it :P (see here).

The polishes I used for this design were China Glaze, Red Satin, O.P.I., Black Onyx and Hot Fun in the Summer-Lime. All of the details/designs were done using acrylic paints and a small detail brush.

There were 3 different categories for this contest: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. I entered mine into the Intermediate category, and below is the picture of the prizes :) I was so excited when I received them this morning that I could not wait to open the box (even though I had alot of errands to run lol). I will be doing swatches of each polish over the next few days so stay on the look out for a post within the next week.

18 polishes, 10 orange wood sticks, a stud wheel, elf cosmetic brush and an eos lip balm.

This is the cute note Gianna wrote me along with the adorable mini stocking :)

From left to right: Midnight Mystery (my favorite!), Red-y or Not, Bubble Gum Pink and Pot of Gold.

Sea Escape, Purple Dream, Mambo Mauve, Jazzy Berry and Nude.

Jawbreaker (Love the name! :P) and Sunset (which is a color changing polish).

Electric Pink

Haze of Love

Guava

Endless Blue (I have had my eye on this one!)

MoMa

Wicker Park

This one doesn't have a name (at least not on this bottle) but the number is HLE18 3226.

As you can see I will be having alot of fun over the next few days! :P Not only with these polishes but also with the new Stamping Plates I received for Christmas. I will post lost of pictures here on my blog and possibly a few reviews on my new YouTube Channel

I want to give a BIG Thank You to +Nailstorming for hosting this contest and sending me so many amazing prizes!! Also if you haven't voted yet please check out this post to vote for my Holly design in the China Glaze Holiday Contest. JULEP SWATCH & REVIEW

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope everyone is having a great Holiday season! Today I have some swatches from my December Julep Maven box. I did receive it a few weeks ago and I'm just now getting to it because I was too excited about doing Christmas themed nail art :P

My Maven style is It Girl, so my monthly box usually always consists of 3 polishes. I wasn't going to get my December box because it wasn't prudent for me at the time but I forgot to skip it...and I'm kind of glad I did. I received some beautiful polishes and my next Maven box is free :)

These are the 3 polishes I received, and at first glance I wasn't very excited about Celia and Shoshanna. But I LOVE Evelyn!! I have a Julep polish similar to Evelyn but it's a little bit darker. This one is the perfect color for my toes :)

Celia was one I was iffy about. The color did look pretty but I wasn't sure that I would like it...I was completely wrong. The second I started painting my nails I fell in love with it! I love that it reminds me of a Mermaid's tail! It is a beautiful green chrome/metallic polish with a hint of silver. I applied two coats for complete opaqueness.

Shoshanna is the only Julep polish I've received that I have not liked. Although it looks gorgeous on, it did not apply very well. I had to apply 3 coats to get the look below and the 3rd coat I had to apply in a sort of dabbing motion instead of the normal brush stroke. I assume this polish is meant to go over the top of mani's or other nail polishes...I do have a few other glittery gold polishes and one thing I do like about this one over my other gold glitters is that it has not only gold glitter but rainbow glitter as well. But overall I have to admit this is my least favorite.

Evelyn is a beautiful creme polish. I am in love with this color and could wear it every day of the year! It's pretty opaque, you could probably get away with one coat. I applied two just to make sure all nails had even coverage.

(All swatches done with Seche Vite base and top coat)
